WEEK 13: REPORT PROPOSAL SUBMISSION

By this week i have to finish my proposal report for my final year project which is Detection of Glucose Level Using Non-Invasive Method and submit the proposal by next week on Wednesday.

This proposal include abstract, introduction, literature review, methodology conclusion and references as evidence.

Next week i'll meet with my supervisor and have discussion with him about my last week presentation. I will discuss with my supervisor about what I need to improve with my project and overcome problems in FYP1 before develop the hardware and software in FYP2 next semester. Finally to finalize my project title.

WEEK 12: PRESENTATION DAY

Date: 21 December 2016
Venue: Dewan Gemilang, UniKL BMI

Yesterday was my presentation day for Final Year Project 1.
A bit nervous before its started but Alhamdulillah, everything went well and I'm done 😊
My assessor were Dr. Ahmad Sabry Mohamad and Dr. Gan, both from medical section.

WEEK 10: THIRD FYP BRIEFING

Date: 7th Desember 2016

Venue: TTL1 (GO4)
Time: 3pm-4pm

Third fyp briefing which is the final briefing from fyp committee. Briefing today regarding FYP presentation day.

Date of presentation: 21/12/2016

WEEK 9: DESIGN PROJECT FLOWCHART

By understanding the block diagram, the flowchart is designed with the two most common types of boxes:

• a processing step, usually called activity, and denoted as a rectangular box
• a decision, usually denoted as a diamond.

The whole program will start when a fingertip place at the sensor. detection of blood glucose using transmission technique will detect and received at receiver. Then the output will amplify before to controller and the result will be obtained.

WEEK 8: DESIGN PROJECT BLOCK DIAGRAM

In the process to develop non-invasive blood glucose monitoring system, it is divided into several main parts. To analyse and predict glucose concentration, it is possible by using glucose spectroscopy between wavelength 1100nm to 2450nm. The system setup consists of a reflective optical sensor, for transmission and reception of NIR rays with the fingertip as the body site. NIR signals are passed through the fingertip and detected photodiode. Then photodiode current output will convert into voltage signal by current to voltage converter. After that, the output will filter and amplify using high pass filter, low pass filter, noise filter and amplifier before conditioned for better result. The output is then fed to microcontroller unit to process the receiver signal and performed voltage variation analysis as to monitor whether the obtained value is within threshold.

WEEK 7: ARDUINO

Arduino UNO

The Arduino Uno is a microcontroller board based on the ATmega328. It has 14 digital input/output pins, 6 analog inputs, a 16 MHz ceramic resonator, a USB connection, a power jack, an ICSP header, and a reset button. It contains everything needed to support the microcontroller. I proposed to use arduino as my microcontroller for my project.

WEEK 6: SECOND FYP BRIEFING

Date: 9th November 2016
Venue: TTL1 (GO4)
Time: 3pm-4pm

Second briefing was held to give information and overview about proposal report writing. Proposal report which is carry 35% from this subject. From the briefing also we learnt guideline to write a technical proposal. This proposal includes abstract, introduction, literature review, methodology and conclusion.

WEEK 5: NEAR-INFRARED

Detection of Glucose Level Using Non-Invasive Method project involves the use of near-infrared (NIR).
so, I'll explain about NIR today.
The NIR defines the range of wavelengths from 650nm to 2500nm where light has its maximum depth of penetration in tissue. Within the NIR, scattering is the most dominant light-tissue interaction, and therefore the propagating light becomes diffused rapidly. Since scattering increases the distance traveled by photons within tissue, the probability of photon absorption also increases. Because scattering has weak dependence on wavelength, the NIR is primarily limited by the light absorption of blood at short wavelengths and water at long wavelengths.

WEEK 4: SELECTION OF PROJECT TITLE

As stated at the title, my FYP title is
DETECTION OF GLUCOSE LEVEL USING NON-INVASIVE METHOD

So, here i will explain a little bit of my project.
This project implements to measure blood glucose concentration level with non-invasive method. In order to measure blood glucose concentration level, the instrumentation devices involves the emission of near-infrared light and detecting its transmission light after it passed through a fingertip.

WEEK 3:FINAL YEAR PROJECT 1 FIRST MEETING FOR BRIEFING

Objective: To get the overview information about FYP1 from FYP comittee.

Date: 19th October 2016
Venue: TTL1 (GO4)
Time: 3-4pm

From the briefing  got a lot of information about FYP1. First, I have find supervisor to assist and guide me during FYP1 and FYP2 next sem. So,as we know I already choose Sir Shah as my supervisor. Second, regarding assessment have in FYP1 which are logbook, presentation and proposal. So, wish me finish it on time 😄

WEEK 2: PROJECT SUPERVISION AND ORGANIZATION

Objective: To find project supervisor with respect to the specialization area of the project.

I decide to choose Sir Shah Rizailli Mukhtar
from medical electronics section
as my project supervisor
and got approval by him.
Moreover, by this week also i have
short listed a few of project title.
So, next week i will decide
my final year project title and
i will discuss with my supervisor about it 😊
